General Information:
Passports are issued to Eritrean citizens with National ID and children with Eritrean parents.
Laissez-Passer can only be used for emergency travel to Eritrea (i.e. one-way travel specifically to Eritrea).
Passport and Laissez-Passer Requirements:
- Complete Passport application form online
- Eritrean National ID (for anyone 18 years old or older)
- Three Photos
- Size: 35 x 45mm or 1.38′ x 1.77′
- White background
- Centered and facing straight forward
- Hair off your face so forehead and ears fully visible
- Open eyes, closed mouth
- Natural expression (no smile, laugh or frown)
- Prescription glasses only
- Only religious hats or scarfs are allowed
- Permanent Residence Card (Green Card) (Copy)
- Current Recovery and Rehabilitation Tax Clearance
- Birth certificate (Copy)
- Processing Fee: $200
- Photo Printing fee $13

FAQ – Visiting Eritrea
A Laissez-Passer is valid for six months from the date of issue.
An Eritrean National ID is a pre-requisite for obtaining a Laissez-Passer.
